Whistle from the engine when it is cold out...

I have a 2003 Expo and in the winter time when I start the truck it whistles until it warms up. Only happens when the outside temp is 35 or below.

Can anyone help with this issue?

I had a bad bearing in one of the belt idler pulleys do this, which went away when it warmed up. Here is another possibility:

check your vacume hose conectors they may be leaking when cold and expand when warm to close the air leak off

Check the gasket around the engine air filter door. I had the same problem and bought gasket material from HD, cut and trimmed it and put it on the door and the noise went away. Another option is to buy a new door for big bucks.
