I took a look at the directions and they didn't say anything about not putting this product on a 2008. Did they change it to fit all 6.4s?
Tried looking it up too, but could not find anything. I wish I could post a picture of the "Warning" card that came with my DPF-R 4.0... I can't remember the exact words, but it basically said that it was not compatible with 2008 Model years. I have no idea why it would say that. My only advice to anyone with an 08', is to call Gearbox Z and ask them.
I have a 2008 with the DPF-R+ installed and it works flawlessly. The DPF-R program can be used if the truck does not has the original firmware installed on the 2008 models. If the PCM has an update different from the original 2008, it will work as any 2009 or 2010 model.
