I have a similar problem, It is a 1979 F700 Dump truck with a vin # of F70AVEA7948. I am trying to find out what size the motor is. It has a V8 with a 2bb Holly carb made for Motocraft that I would like to find a rebuild kit for. thanks for any help...
Thank you very much for the good information. I called the numbers you gave me for the carb rebuild kit. Bob Allen Ford wants $65. plus shipping, Green Sales wants $35. + shipping I presume. Miller Obsolete parts was the wrong phone #.
So I ordered from Green sales! I got one from Napa for $53. but will return it as they were not sure it was the right one. It has a Napa# of 2-5842 with a number on the box of 15724. The instructions say it is for a Holly Model -2300 EG. I couldn't find much on the carb itself except it says Holly made for Motocraft and the number stamped on the horn is: 6R 5544B. Thank you again... Ernie
I also have a similar problem. I'm trying to sell a 1980 F700 Grain Truck. I know it has the original motor in it but I have no idea what size/horsepower it is. The VIN # is K74NVHK1520. That'd be awesome if someone could help me out. Thanks!

Thank you very much! That definitely helps me out a lot. So now I know it's a V8 8.2L Detroit Diesel. Is there anyway I can find out what the horsepower of the engine is?? Thanks!!
Thanks so much, that is great info, My grandfather bought this truck new in 73, thats cool that he special ordered it. He sold the truck in 1980 and died in 84. I ran across it sitting in a field, It still had his name and phone number on the door! I could not believe it, I had to have it, purchased it for 800 bucks. It started right up and runs perfect no smoke no oil leaks, hard to believe but it has 102000 miles. Does no look like it ever had a bolt turned on it. Anyway thanks again for your help I would have never found all that out, Thanks Sherman.
I have one too if you don't mind: 1(E or f)DNK77N9FVA65799
I am looking at buying a truck and it is supposed to be a 1985 Ford F700.
I would like to know first if it is. Second what motor we're talking about. Third a little info for the shipping company. Approximate empty weight with a flat bed, top of cab height, width at front fenders.
