But to try and answer your question, while adding the disclaimer that I dont own that generation of truck:
a sterling from your year range will bolt into a 78 or 79 truck. So the spring pad widths and hub to hub distance must be pretty close. So I'd guess if you scored a 9" from a 78 or 79 F150 it would definitely bolt right in as far as the leaf springs go.
As for the van stuff, I have no idea. But its not like F150 9"'s are hard to find or expensive. I have 3 of them....
