A few quick questions

So I have 3 quick questions:

1. Turbo crossover pipe - Does anyone know where you can buy one? Or is it a make it yourself or have a muffler shop make it part?

2. For those with the C6 transmissions and a turbo - how is your transmission dipstick run? I called ATS figuring it was a whole new tube/dipstick but they said it was just an extension on the top (????) It looks to me like it'd have to be bent to hug the bellhousing of the trans and exit near the drivers side valve cover instead?

3. Anyone got a picture of how their 3" down pipe follows down next to the transmission/crossover? My downpipe was cut off 8" after the turbo by the junkyard... I'll have to reconstruct the lower section.

Thanks!

I would suspect yes, it's what I'd do.

You can build/route your dipstick tube wherever however your imagination takes you, you can get dip sticks that you cut and mark to fit.

I have done this a couple times when doing transplants, I use the original one to verify the oil level in relation to the full mark (easier to get the oil level perfect, but not needed), stick the new one in and mark the level, then match up the rest of the original marks to match on the new one taking into consideration the oil level versus full mark on the original.

Wish I could ... That would mean I have a Turbo.

I would build to suit my needs/desires personally.

Thanks.. I was just hoping that before I got creative with the downpipe and dipstick I could see some existing ones. I'll have to wait until i get the cab bolted on to get creative then to make sure nothing interferes, but that means harder to work on. It's so nice and easy when the cab is off

For that I think I would have it both ways, on for fitting, off for working!

To tight for my busted up body to be twisting around in while working and building!

I seem to remember something about the cab hanging in the barn though ...

Yeah I decided I'm going to gamble a bit. I've got the transmission dipstick bent into place so it hugs the bell housing and comes up at the middle/back of the engine now. This gives enough room for the 3" downpipe to hug the up-pipe and bell housing. I'm going to build my crossover pipe tomorrow and also build the 3" down pipe and turn back and then I'll install the forward fuel tank/lines and pull the frame up to the barn and see how it fits. If I have to tweak anything I'll just lift the cab back off and pull it back to the shop to tweak as needed. I'm fairly young yet but don't like twisting around all that much either. And when it's easier to do it's easier to do a good job on

I'm going to go 3" down pipe and a 3" turn to the back and then after the turn I'm going to open it up to 3.5". I just need to find somewhere I can get 3.5" here now haha I figure I'll need about 6 or 7 feet straight pipe and a bend for the turnout. Worst case I'll order online.
