got a set of BFG a/t 36/12.50 r16.5's for practically nothing, what rims would yall suggest? looking at them i don't get all specs. anyone running the eagle alloy 058s?
thanks
i suggest trying to find some of the two piece mil-spec HMMWV rims. they look tough painted black on our trucks, and you can find them cheapo status sometimes... not to mention that they are bullet proof and you can get an internal rubber runflat/beadlock to run with them. although you're going to need to run about 4" lift to run tires that big on these 250's. Good luck with your D50 running tires that big
got a 4" lift im putting on, with the drop bracket and everything and have an alignment machine available at school.
plan on doing a d60 in the future just cant find one in my area at the moment
yeah buddy, i'd go with the 12 bolt double bead lock hmmwv rims, paint em black and polish up the beadlock bolts with a wire wheel. I found a set of 4 on ebay for $350. I just sent the guy a question about the backspace to see if they will work on a 250 or not. I know they clear on a 350 because a buddy of mine had them. And they are way plenty strong enough because they carried my 15k lb up-armored hmmwv all over iraq without a problem. I'll get back to you on the backspace as soon as i know
wouldn't do that if i were you bud, they're only rated to carry 2000 lbs a piece, so if you ever even come close to loading out your truck, you're going to lose a rim or 4. For about the same price as steel rims, you can get MB wheels model 72 in chrome or black to fit your fancy, and they are a 32 or 3400 lb rim.
I have been looking around bud and steel rims just won't cut it on these big trucks. I was thinking about getting a similar wheel until i looked up the load rating.
yeah x2 on that. i got a line on some 37x1250's but im waiting for my d60 swap too. got a line out on two of them ol kingpin d60's right now waiting to hear back. then it's HMMWV rims, 2" spacers and 37's for this guy!!!
I want to get some HMMWV wheels again for my OBS, there's a tractor tire shop the next town over from me that sells the 37s w/ tires 85% or higher for $95 bucks a piece. But there's other things I want first lol
where do you live at big white? cuz I was looking at the 37 military oz tires for about 110 a piece plus rims at $50 a piece. but the guy only has the 8 bolts, i want the 12 bolts... any chance you could find me a number or a website for that tractor tire place? that would be great!
I live in Central California. They don't have a website, there a little country town shop two kids started up. I will go by tomorrow and get the number for it. We live near a Navy base, so these guys get the "retired" sets for practically nothing. They said when one of the trucks mess up a wheel or tire, they pull all four off so they constantly get new tires/wheels coming in. They also sell the 36" tire with wheel for $75 bucks a piece. Where are you located?
im in oakland, but if they can get me 5 of either tire with the 12 bolt rims and beadlock inserts, sold!!!! are they in kerman by any chance? that's where the guys i been talking to the last couple days are from. hopefully whoever you got can get me the 12 bolt rims though, that would be sweet!!!
Visalia, I know they sell the 37" tires for $75 a piece without wheels. I will check on the 12 bolt for you, they don't get them as much as the 8 lug, I'll see if they can get a set and hold them for you. They're the cheapest place in California I have seen by far, and awesome to deal with. Usually better deals the more you buy
if they can get a set, then I can be there pretty much whenever. the rims im talking about are the 12 bolt beadlock, not a 12 lug, vise the older 8 bolt beadlock, here's some pics
8 bolt
and 12 bolt
Both are 8 lug, but i prefer the look and higher strength of the 12 bolt beadlocks
