Gonna be possibly buying a 75 f100 4x4 here soon, hopefully this weekend. anyways it has the new process 4 speed. Just a simple question, what do you all have to say about it quality/reputation wise? Truck's gonna be used for off roading, but not SERIOUS hardcore, just some small mud bogs and trails...thanks for any info!
oh yea i know, i figured that out after driving it and it putting me in the seat until it hit like 10mpg. how fast does yours go before it winds out? 4th gear i mean
I don't know Ive never driven it past 20mph. I got mine on trade and it needed work so I took it apart before I really got to drive it too much. I should have it done in the next 30 to 45 days depending on money. My trans has a bad bearing so I'm rebuilding it. You couldn't tell by driving it though only after I took it out and looked inside did I know. I had to put a new ring gear on the flywheel and I put in a new clutch now the trans needs rebuilt and I'm ready to tear up the trails! BADLANDS HERE I COME!
haha yea. all i know is the guy installed a new clutch about 300miles ago, and it shifted good when i drove it, so we'll see what i get myself into! it's definitely a project truck!
yea believe it or not those tires are 35s! at first before i went to look at the truck and only had the pictures i thought they were 33's MAX. ha the thing i love the most about the truck is the engine, a 390.
I think ive seen your truck before on youtube? cause it looks familiar...
If so it was before it was mine. You will see mine on you tube after its done for sure! I have 33s but am getting 35s as soon as I can. I have a 360 but I am just a crankshaft away from being a 390. I have everything else.
yea thats what i meant, what kind of 35's. Those should be alright, i don't know about the tread life though but hey its a mud tire. my swampers i had before my hawgs lasted about 24k so you should get at least the same i'd think
Ive done CRAP loads of research and I have found that these tires have the highest rating on every kind of terrain than any other tire. I know that sounds crazy but quite a few websites with reviews say the same thing. That's why I chose them. I don't intend to use them on the pavement. I will have a road set and an off road set.
