Changing gears for mileage?
What would it cost to get some taller gears? I am not sure what i am even running now I will find out tomorrow. Think I am deciding to keep the truck. I would like to get some taller gears though. I am getting about 13-14 in town and 18-19 highway spartan hybrid race tune. I wanna see as high as I can and if anyone knows what else I can do let me know. Other than smaller tires.
Oh and I think I asked someone this and I didnt get an answer. Should I do an egr delete when I do studs even if I have spartan tunes? I thought they keep the egr valve closed?

The spartan tunes do not tune out the egr. They kept that for better mpgs. If your getting 18-19 on the hwy that in my opinion is about the best your going to see. Replacing gears and $300-700 an axle will take along time to recoupe the cost of a potential 1mpg increase. If it were me I would 1) be glad it runs good. 2) suck it up the truck is 7000+#
