Will it Fit?

I have a Dana 60 dually front axle that I would like to switch to single rwd. Can I just put a a srwd hub on it or will I have to also switch out the outer axles?

I thought the DRW axle was wider or narrower, can't remember.
I don't know though.

I think the only thing that makes the axle wider is the hub. It has a cast iron spacer on it.

I'm pretty sure the axle is the same, just different hub setup.

I don't know for sure though.

Everyone seems to swap the whole axle when they do it, so I always figured there was something different on the setup.

I believe its just the hubs that need to be switched.

you just change hubs.however the brake rotors are different too.the dually rotors bolt to them from behind.
pretty simple swap.
your rear axle is 4" wider (if you have a pickup/not a C&C)
both your hubs w/rotors and rear axle is worth some $.be sure you dont just give them way.
also,so you know when searching the salvage yard (if your not looking for new) that D50 hubs will also work,as they are the same.

that f350 dually bed is also worth a nice penny!
you'll come ahead on the swap by far.dually conversions are not cheap.also know your dually rims are worth some $.
you have a couple grand of used dually goods to sell!

1.d60 dually hubs = $100
2.6 dually rims = $50-100 each call it roughly $400
3.dually rear pickup axle = $350-900 call it roughly $500
4.dually pickup bed = $1500

total $2500

SRW conversion:
1.srw D60/D50 hubs w/rotors (salvage yard score) $100
2.4 srw wheels= $100
3. srw axle (salvage yard score) $200
4. standard bed .....i dunno,depends greatly on cond.location,etc.

total of about lets say;$600
but then you need new U-joints to bolt srw axle in,and have new bed painted etc.

so should come out around a grand ahead.
you may possibly have 2 good tires to sell,or just hang onto and use latter too.either you win there too.

Talyn seems interested.both of you remove everything and swap.Talyn pays for all the shipping/or drives to you, and you both win.
however you may look at each rig,and decide its just easier to swap rigs lol.

It is just the hub that needs to be switched. You can buy the SRW front hubs, and swap them out on your axle, and use your axle with no issues. The spacing for the axle assembly is identical for both the DRW and SRW front. You can use all the same internal bearings, lock ring, locking hub and races for either set-up. The only part you will want to consider purchasing along with the hub, is the inner seal.

The only time there is an axle difference between width, is for the rear axle.

Sorry for the confusion people but I am working on d60 dually front axle. I am changing my DRWD truck to SRWD but it is the front axle I want the hubs for not the rear.
