the more things change....

the more they stay the same ! well, i went back into work at club moulin rouge friday and saturday night, from 7pm till 2 am--i been out of the biz for about 11 months, and i gotta say--nothings changed ! drunkenmonkeys everywhere. seriously, why would you suddenly decide ( for no apparent reason other than i am breathing what you consider to be your fair share of the available oxygen in a room ) to try and kick my butt ? i mean, look at this picture of me. 6 foot 2 and damn near 325lbs. nicest guy in the world, no temper and no ego. i really dont CARE if your d**k is bigger than mine. really , i dont ! and basically as a doorman you are hired on your abillity ( real or percieved- but it will be apparant very quickly which way it is ! ) to clean house on anyone at anytime, if need be--seriously, i just dont get drunk people. i mean, what gives ? all i was doing was standing there looking ugly ( whoops, sorry mom . i know, i know, dont say ugly, say "unattractive "...) jeez, i sure missed this job--not ! but i gotta pay them bills, so......i guess " its a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it " , hah hah.....now somebody fly over here and buy my damn tow truck !

Know a guy does that job. Nice guy. Air con service tech. Family man. Races motor bikes. The garbage he has to take from drunken AHs is unbelievable. But it pays for his bike racing so he doesn`t mind.

yeah you either learn how to "tune out" the moronic sh** talking or go nutty from it real quickly. hey, talk is cheap i say. anyway drunk people apparently have no clue that they are being buttmonkeys ( so i have heard--since i never been drunk i have to take everyone elses word on that ! ) and i do need to pay some bills, so--i owe, i owe, so off to work i go ! and MOST guys who work that line are usually very nice--just dont p*ss em off ! you do get the occasional idiot at the door who likes to fight, but that becomes obvious really quickly and they dont last very long--too many potential lawsuits there . i been at it for 19 years now, i took about a year out to try running my own business and failed misserably at it. oh well, stick with what ya know, right ? hey, who knew that being big and ugly was a tradeable commodity !

At 6'4" and 300 pounds myself I feel your pain. Never fails drunks always want to pick on the biggest guy there. Just do like I do. I look them in the eye and say "I'm a lover not a fighter so after I kick your *** guess what I'm gonna do to it next!" I've found not many are willing to take that chance. LOL

6' 1" @ 280 lbs and haven't stepped into a bar or nightclub in over 15 years! I feel your pain and admire you for being able to put up with that BS daily and do your job.

I know the feeling. As big as I am, takes too much alcohol to get me drunk.

Drunk or not, I'm still very aware of what pain feels like and go out of my way to avoid it. People like you describe serve no purpose and should be dealt with accordingly...or at least locked up until it's legal to deal with them accordingly.

I've used the "Lover not a fighter" thing, however that last part is awesome!

That would definitely make me walk away ... BACKWARDS!

Get a room you two ...

5-11", 167lbs, 36" inseam, 32" waist, 42" chest ... I have very little body fat and work hard at keeping that chest up where it belongs, not down around my waist where most chests are at my age!
