This part does what?

1990 F-150, 4.9 2wd. Small canister near the passenger side firewall. There is a brittle white line that comes out of it that is broken off, it was never connected since i got it. The plastic lever moves and when it's pulled on, i can feel air moving from the white line and i can hear some sort of plunger system moving.

Thanks in advance for sharing your Ford knowledge.

That controls the damper door for heat/air con, directs the air to the vents or floor for example, default "no vacuum" is defrost.

Find the other end, hopefully its caped off, and re connect it using a section of small rubber vac line.

even better that it's the Outside Recirculate Door Vacuum Motor. i suppose since the white line is broken i should really check to see if the other end is capped off or i've got a vac leak.

subford has THE most useful and easy to interpret diagrams.
