Not sure where to start? 97 F-350 dont notice it all the time, but at times when I am driving, seems to be at any speed over 35mph there is a hesitation in my steering when taking a corner to the right! Kinda freaks me out cause I am not sure if I am gonna make the corner and all of a sudden it turns!! Truck has 315/75/16 tires and drives great except on those right hand corners! Leaning towards the steering box or possibly a bad/or bent steering stabilizer?(Havent removed the stabilizer to check it out) Any ideas or suggestions of where to start are appreciated! Everything up front, tierods etc seem tight.
check your steering box and tie rod ends first. those would be the most likely. does it do it on a left turn? I would just check the entire steering linkage. Let us know what you find.
Truck is a 4x4 and the u-joints are good in the axle, that what I first thought was wrong but not the case. The truck only will do it on right hand corners have never felt it to the left. I will have sum one jump in and turn the wheel so I can watch everything in motion and see what I can find!
Had my buddy a mechanic come over that does front end alignments and he could find no bad parts!!! He suggests taking steering stabilizer off and see what happens? He was at a loss also!!! So I will start there and see what that brings.
my 94 F250HD has been doing something similar. When i make a turn and put some gas to it it seems to pull the steering in one direction or another, but at speed it is fine, even going around tight turns
