I want to eventually get a nice v8 in my 95' ford f-150. Everything on it is stock, and I was wondering what the largest would fit? I want a good amount of horse power.
Top speed will still be limited to like what 85mph with stock computer.
Or you can get a tweecer and turn the limiter off.
I wouldn't go to fast in a big top heavy truck.
If your looking for top speed id look into a different vehicle.
I hit 90 going down hill in my 4.9L I-6. I don't exactally want TOP speed, I want a good amount to pass up the retards that drive like crap, and maybe a little extra.
your truck will not need any modifications other than motor mounts, radiator, different trans, and maybe a different computer and engine bay wiring harness to put a 460 in it.
the 460 was an optional engine in the F-250- and F-350. and since the 150,250,and 350 are the same trucks except for stronger frames, everything will interchange between them.
the best way to do this is to find a wrecked 460 powered truck to use as a donor vehicle. this way, you will have all the parts you need to do the swap in one package.

Sweet. I can stop by the Pick and Pull later on. Are those all of the items I would need? It'd fit fine in my truck? And would I need to get the parts from a certain year 150, 250, 350?
92 to 96 F Series.
88 to 91 is still fuel injected and will work, but they use a speedometer cable instead of the VSS like yours does, and the 88-91 get worse gas mileage than the newer trucks do due to a different program in the computer.

Excellent, excellent. Would you happen to know a good, reliable engine site? Maybe some used 7.4L engines?
