No Remote start after flash

Sorry folks, I know that I have seen this question posted before, but I'll be darned if I can find it on a search .....

A while back, after having my hpop replaced, and my flash updates done at the same time, I no longer had the ability to remote start my vehicle. I am sure that it is related to the flash, but have no idea what to do about it, and would love to get that feature back. FWIW, I am pretty sure that my remote start is a feature on my viper alarm system, which otherwise still works fine.

Thanks for the help!

Mike

Are you sure that everything with your alarm system got hooked back up when they did the repair work to your truck? Just because someone is a GOOD or GREAT diesel tech doesn't mean that they are also an electronic tech. I have no clue about your Viper except that they seem to be very popular systems. They also may have tech help on their site for your problem.

My money would be on something not being hooked up or hooked up wrong. There really isn't any reason why you would not have remote start after a flash. Mine still worked fine after my flash. The viper dosent tie into the computer for anything so it knows no different from one flash to the other.

Thanks for the help guys! After I posted this I started thinking along the same lines as NPCC and found a broken wire under the dash, that was probably either unrelated to anything that the mechanic did, and may have even been something that I snagged at some point when I was under there. Many thanks for being there! BTW, now that I have been under the dash looking over the alarm wiring, I am reminded of why I really hate it when someone else does any wiring on my vehicle... well functional, but what a mess. There are about 6 fuses going through different parts of this wiring, all in big messy bundles of wiring, tucked way up under the dash, and the alarm wiring goes absolutely everywhere. Mike
