I would like to know if an older vintage steering wheel would fit on my 65, and if so how difficult is the swap? If I can find one of course. What I was thinking is the wheel I have now sort of juts out at you from the hub, so it hits my old man gut. (no I have not considered a diet ) I have however noticed that some older model steering wheels are flat from the hub out. Would it then be safe to say that one of these would be a few inches further away from the driver ? I don't have much room with this setup and aftermarket wheels seem to also be flat from the hub outward. They are also a smaller diameter like 14" and I have standard steering so I guess bigger is better.
Yes they make the adapters to put aftermarket steering wheels on our trucks... but, if you have manual steering i would not recomend anything smaller than the 17 inch size thats on it now. if you find a flat from the hub wheel it will more than likely hit your legs.
LMC has a few steering wheel to choose from that i think are 17 inch, may want to look and see.
