hi all this is my first post.I was wondering if the ebay headers are worth getting or not.I have 01 F250 4x4 with 96k and 3:73 gears super cab sb.I have the stosck ypipe for now and no muffler, sounds good by the way.Do they help with lowend torque? Are they a pain in the a$$ to install?Thansk for anny help or advice all you good people can give.
There are plenty of threads on this if you scroll down the list. It's not for the faint-of-heart, that's for sure.
Low-end torque? Nope, but for me, no loss in it neither. Pain in the ***? Yes, you have to notch the frame, broken studs, make sure the holes in the header flanges are in the right spot, etc. etc. And they will be somewhat noisy compared to the stock manifolds.
Headman headers bolt right up and include the y pipe. Pain to get the old ones off, pain to install clips on locking manifold bolts, but worth the effort. No retightening manifold, but y pipe will looosen up some and need rechecked. No frame notching needed. No noticable power but mileage improved a couple on highway. Up to 17mpg at 70mph from 12-14mpg.
