Center console organizer

This isn't related to the 6.7L per se, but has anyone figured out how to use the center console space better? The little tray that comes standard pretty much just covers up the box and makes it useless. I want to have a few hanging folders on one side and some deeper organizers in the rest.

I agree... I love the space, but the interior of the box needs some re-engineering. Would be nice if the tray was on rails so it could slide allowing you to reach below.

No takers on the topic. Looks like we'll have to let the thread go dormant for a while until more trucks are in the wild. Curious though, I thought that the center console in the 2011's is the same as '08-'10. Surprised there are not a gazillion organizer options out there.

Seems to me that the ergonomics team would think these things through a little more. I took out the tray thingy because it limited access to the big space underneath. I put in a couple 1 quart Glad containers to keep things from just being in a pile. As was mentioned, you would think there would be a ton of aftermarket organizers available. And why did they take out my beloved and much used rear seat floor pan??????? Ford giveth and Ford taketh away I suppose.

I am in the same boat as you all. I had a Dodge before the Ford and really liked the armrest with storage. When I test drove new trucks, the Dodge was the best with storage. Their center console had an armrest that would open with enough storage for a laptop computer or notebook with bunches of other junk. You could close the top to the armrest and open the whole thing to reveal the large bin like we have in the Ford. I looked this weekend for something that would work. I was going to buy one of those tool bags, but all the pockets are on the outside of them. I then thought to put my woodworking skills to work. I have a great idea in my head and will probably make it this week or weekend. I will keep you all posted with what I come up with!

Hey MPE. I'm excited to see what you come up with. I'd like to see something that allows an inch of hanging file folders and then better use of the cavernous space. I ended up using nylon bank deposit bags to organize my stuff. It's barely workable and needs to be improved.

I went to Wal mart and bought a small plastic container that fit in the bottom of my console. It's more of a catch all but it holds everything were I put it.

Interesting. I never thought much about the space, but my number 1 concern is the face plate to my Ham radio. Right now I am using a cup holder mount I made in my buddys garage at midnight the day before I picked up the truck I need to get around to doing something better. The other side of the console is the space - as has been brought up. There is a lot of wasted space. However, I like the fact that the arm rest console lid locks. You can't say the same for the space under the cup holders.

By pulling out the two cup holders and the lid underneath there is a LOT of space in there. I suppose the bottom cavern could be used for hiding things, but it would be a pain to access all the time as you'd have 3 parts to move before you can get in there.

I would love to have a center console instead of the fold down "20" seat.

Friend of mine got a rent car, dodge challenger,I rode in that has a rubber removable storage compartment with different size holders for keeping stuff. This was in July of last year. I told him that thing would work great in my super duty. Didn't think much else about it....

Anyway, he wrapped it and gave it to me for Christmas!...Lmao...he's a funny guy. Either way it works great...I mean what am I gonna do hurt his feelings and return it?,,,. I'm sure there is no gift receipt either.. LMAO,!
