turn signals

hey guys, question about the turn signals. when i turn the signal for the right, the indicator on the dash blinks and makes the noise, but when i do it for the left, noise, but no blinking light, and i have to kind of jiggle the handle to get it to make the noise even, any ideas what this might be?

I had the same problem. Come to find out that the turn signal cam broke inside the column on the T/S switch. It was causing all kinds of goofy things to happen with my lights, and my turn signals would not self cancel. Come to find out pert near every light but the flashlight in your tool box runs through that switch. I started hunting parts houses for the cam, and everybody came up with a different answer. When I found the right one, they wanted like $25 for it, and when I tore it apart it looked kind of like a pain in the butt to change just the cam. So I hit the wrecker and found a nice tight switch out of a (aprox) 90 f-series. All non-tilt (non cruise I'm guessing) switches are the same Pull the steering wheel. There are like 3 screws that hold the switch in. Unscrew the lever, and the little panel at the bottom of the column at the dash. The harness unplugs under the dash and pulls right out though the column. Goes in the same way. Took about an hour total, and solved all of my lighting issues. Switch was $13.00 and was about a 1 1/2 on a 5 scale of difficulty.
