YOU HAVE TO PUT OIL IN THESE THINGS? OH CRAP!
What type of oil does your "Operators Manual" tell you to put in it?

Your location makes a diff as well.
Ok I'll give in just this once and tell you what it says:
SAE 30 for temps above +32 degrees F;
SAE 20 or 20W for temps above +10 degrees F
SAE 10 for temps above -10 degrees F
SAE 5 for temps below -10 degrees F
If you have over 100K miles on it I might even go with SAE 40.

Since it is a flat tappet engine that needs ZDDP in the oil to keep from flattening the cam lobes, may I recommend Valvoline Racing Oil, which still has sufficient ZDDP in it. Other manufactures have radically dropped the percentage of ZDDP from their oils because isn't good for Cat Converters. B/B Ford turned me on to this stuff and it works great.
