I recently had the passenger side exhaust manifold replaced and the shop did a great job, however when I went to put the inner fender well back in I noticed a small black wire hanging near the manifold. I traced it to the firewall and would assume this is a ground wire I am just not sure where to attach the loose end.
Also the manifold that was replaced cracked on the portion closest to the front of the truck which water hitting it was suspected so I see the fender well has a raised area where it leaves the manifold more exposed in the front part, would it be ok to rivet a piece of rubber over that to keep water out of there better or is that a design for a purpose?
personaly i would cover the gap because i just cracked me 2nd manifold due to the same reason the manifold gets hot and expands the water cools it quickly causeing cracks and possibaly worping
