Just a comment on the warranty part some raise.

The magnuson-moss warranty act says that unless ford can prove the part you changed from stock caused the problem, they have to honor your warranty.

Ford spends MILLIONS on testing and will provide that data to a jury or arbitrator to prove that your altered PCM programming will cause engine/driveline failures. How much money do you want to spend proving otherwise? You WILL be by yourself if you try to get a tuner manufacturer to back you up in court, and even if they were bold enough to show up, they will NOT have the data to back up their claims, and Ford's engineers will make them look like monkeys when they attempt to prove that their part didn't cause a failure.
It's your money...gamble if you wish, but playing Russian Roulette with 5 out of 6 rounds in the cylinder doesn't sound like good odds to me.

Removed PDF, truck works a LOT better.

My 2008 F350 Diesel truck was always weak on takeoff, spluttered regularly and finally wouldn't accelerate at more than an idle until I pulled over and restarted the engine. Ford updated it but it was back to poor performance in 500 miles. I removed the filter, blocked off the EGR valve pipes and used my chip to trick the cleanse exhaust system mode to stop. Truck has more power from launch to full speed whether towing or not. Mileage improved by at least 20%. Smokes a bit but I don't care, I should have done this when I bought it.

What chip and/or kit did you use? I really need to do this to my truck.
This damn Enviro-BS is milking my wallet. If I can get 20% better MPGs,
that's about $18 per fill up back in my pocket.

Call Big Dog Performance in Calgary, Alberta (403 279-6966) www.bigdogtrux.com. My tuner is set on minimum, you won't need to boost the power after the filter is off anyway. The HS Performance XRT Pro Tuner was 1/2 the total cost but it tricks the computer to stop feeding fuel into the exhaust filter. www.hsperformance.com

The truck even " seems happier " with the blockage removed. It was interesting to see how much particulate fell on to the floor and how much stuff was in there.
Hey Irly. It's been a few months now. are you still happy with your decision. Are you happy with the Edge, what levels have you tried? Have you towed with the Edge, if so how heavy? Thanks for the response.

Hi StanleyZ
yes I am still running the Edge tuner. I have absolutely no regrets at all. I deleted the dpf and doc at about 60ooo km and i just turned 97000 km. My mileage is great. My gauge shows 11 ltr/ 100km on the highway and 14 l/ 100km in town, this is always the same. i haven't bothered with hand calculations because i know i am saving money because we constantly do the same trip that used to burn 80-85 ltrs which now burns 50-55. This is consistent as we go there about every 3 weeks. I have an Arctic fox camper that weighs 3400lbs and tow a 20' aluminum riverboat. Loads of power, and lower egt's. I figure the cost of the tuner and the work done by the muffler shop is more than paid for. I have also recommended this to friends who have also done it and they can't believe the difference too.
