I do not have any pictures of it now but for my truck I am taking my black doorpanels, painting the fins silver, inserting the ranger woodgraing and painting the doorcups silver. It looks great so far. I,ll get a pic asap. I,ve also seen at shows where people get carpeting on their doors below the panels, and get the FORD letters engraved.

well here is what I have now. It is a modified stock piece. The speaker is up that high for two reasons,One it raises the sound field to a much better level and two it was going to interfere with my power window set up.The lower panel is a piece I made from 1/4" oak plywood and covered with auto carpet(matches the kick panels). I was thinking of making new panels out of either 1/4" cabnet plywood or hard board and molding in a speaker ring and window switches.

Ok,I have been a little busy but did manage to get started on my door panels. Decided I am going to retro fit 67-72 door handles and trim cups for a smooth look. Now I just need to find a set and mod. my latch setup. I have the panel cut out and am working on the lay out of the arm rest, window switches and speaker pod.If any one has a set of handles PM me. Thanks

well I finaly found the time to work on my door panels today. I got the driver side done.I am still trying to decide if I like it.LOL
It is all built from cabinet grade 1/4" plywood and solid shaped wood. They are all covered in real leather. Still not sure about the lighter color of the trim piece on the bottom.I also switched the window switches from 97 up to a late 80s style for ease of instalation.

Hey C.L.NYE - I really like all things stock or close to it, so not a huge fan - BUT... for me it's a bit hard to get a sense of what you are trying to achieve just seeing the door by itself - how does it look in the context of the whole cab?
Personal preference would be less contrast so as the lower white panel doesn't stand out so much. Good on you for trying though - I'm putting up with originals which are cracked, rattling and the wrong colour...

I like the diamond plate aluminum idea also. I'm not sure if I wanted to make the whole panel out of it or just make some inserts to dress up the existing panel as some of you have done. But I like the looks of it. I had also thought that maybe some accents on the dash would look good to go with it and may making the instrument cluster out of it to match, might look spiffy as well.

If that bottom part of the panel was black instead of grey, I think it would look better. If you could find out how to I would try and see if you could put FORD letters into the bottom somehow. It might look cool. Another idea might be if your truck is two tone you could try and use those colors in the panel if you already havent. I myself like the origonal doorpanels like this one of mine.
Note: The door itself is gonna be black when done.
Good luck
