I haven't driven the truck but I'm fixing to do a few upgrades on it. The owner says it's the best single upgrade he ever did. Fuel mileage went up 1.5-3 mpg on winter blend and it's a 4x4 with 33" tires and a huge front bumper. Says that the throttle response is almost too good.

I dont have the updated programing on my truck, I was wondering if it would hurt the truck to up date with ford first or just get the FICM reprogramed.

I will compare the two as best I can, but two totally different trucks, injectors and turbos. It should be really interesting though as Jake says it's too sensative for him to drive on wet pavement. I ain't skeered though.

Whatever programming you get put in last is what you'll have. It would be a waste of money to do one then the other as one will be overwritten. Compare a flash to recording over a cassette tape over and over and over. Once you record over the old recording there is no recovery.

I have been thinking about getting my FICM reprogramed. Can anyone tell me what is done when it is reprogramed? Does it completly wipe all of the Ford programming, or is some of it retained? What about the induction heating? Also what riskes does it pose for head bolts, and emissions? I know it's a lot, but I just want to learn as much as I can before I do someting like this.

At the risk of being crude, I'd almost wet myself if my truck did that. *sigh*

(funny, how both my woefully underpowered Chevy's would do that, but my supposedly high-powered Ford won't.... *grumble*)

Your high powered Ford is also heavier and more solidly manufactured...

That much I'll give you.... However, the first Chevy was 5000 lbs, and a whopping 120 HP from the factory...

Anyhoo, PHP has an e-mail from me.
