i have a 86 f150 with a 302 i did a oil change this weekend and now she is blowing blue smoke and it didnt blow smoke before please let me know if you have a idea of whats wrong iam useing pin 10w 40
Is this a new to you truck? Or you have had it for years and done regular oil changes, and suddenly it did this?
If this truck is new to you, and the oil hadn't been changed, then the detergents in the new oil will break loose stuff in the engine and also be thinner and tend to leak and run into places the old thick oil didn't, like worn valve guides and rings.
Or maybe a previous owner added something to the oil to thicken it up, thereby slowing down
its leaking into the combustion chambers and you just removed that stuff.

well i was looking around today and my oil fill cap is blowing oil out were is should seal and its running down to my exhaust but what would be the best stuff to use for the oil to thicken it up ?
If your PCV valve is working, and you are getting a lot of smoke coming out of the oil filler cap, your engine has a lot of wear. That's why it's smoking. Just keep oil in it, and as long as it doesn't foul the sparkplugs so the engine misses, you can keep using the truck as is.

i found why iam smokeing i have mustang valve covers lol and oil is comeing out on my exhaust but now when it gets worm it truns off and wont start for like five mins i think its my fuel pump and my gas gag quit and my swich for the tanks wont change i ve got power
Pennzoil? I hate that stuff. It causes the following:
One possible item is the oil drains in the heads could be plugged up and holding too much oil at the top of the engine. When this happens, oil will flow past the valve seals into the cyls, and smoke is common.
