F-250 Tailgate Interchangeable?

I just recently bought a F-250 diesel, 2006 model. I have been driving a F-250 V-10, model 2001.

My question is does anyone know if the tailgates are interchangeable. I am going to put my 2001 up for sale and I have the original tailgate, but I would like to use my 5th wheel tailgate on my 2006.

Well the 2001 tailgate will not fit the 2006. The 01 is about an inch too short and will not latch.

There IS an adjustment on the pins on each side of the bed. I think it takes a #50 torx.
