i hate to ask the dumb question but did you check your fuses, im pretty sure there is a under the dash fuse for the gauges, what happened when they failed ( any changes prior to it, i.e. new alternator, battery, etc etc..) any info like that may help figure it out, but myself i would have looked at fuses before buying a new battery.. also when the gauges died ( while you still had the old battery) did every thing else work or did EVERYTHING die?
