had oil leak on top of engine, guys from forum said it was seals form hpop, took it to dealer and that was 100% the leak, dealer wants to charge me $915.00 to change seals. i told them to hold off and do a speed control recall, am i getting screwed with that estimate? seems awfuly high to change some seals
Yes, it sounds like they are charging you for a reman HPOP. You can replace them all your self for about 10% of that cost. Call Bob and he will get you taken care of.
i just got off the phone with the dealer. waiting for him to call me back, asked him to speak to the tech and tell me exactly what seals are bad, he said it might be all, 4 but still awaiting his call. decided to call other dealership and was quoted 765.00 to replace all four seals
hopefully someone can clarify this or give more info, but for around $100 you can send your pump to joey, have it modded. im i assuming correctly he replaces all seals during this and you get a better working hpop.

Rasta, Call Tony at Midway Truck Repair in Vacaville. Or Monty's Automotive in Vacaville. They're in the phone book.
ok,thanks, i will. just got truck back from dealer, denied them working on it, they said top and bottom seals leaking, i can see the top 2 have obviously been leaking but dont believe the bottom 2 are leaking, gonna get the top lines repaired and go from there, thanks to all for the advice
He's in Modesto and can deal with any HPOP issue you can dream up. If nothing else, call Joey or send him an email and ask him if you drove over to him what he would charge to either improve your HPOP or just fix your leak. The estimate for close to $1,000.00 for $11.00 worth of o-rings seems a tad bit high.
Heck, you could pick up a cheap set of tools plus buy 2 o-ring kits and still get out for less than 10% of the quote you were given by fixing it yourself.
