Is this true about Texans?

I would first see if he was definatly after my family or I first, if not then I'd just watch him run on by and laugh. But if he was after one of us I'd kick him in the go-nads, and if that doesn't give him a clue, I'd tie him twith my rope and drag him around town behind my horse. The only thing I would shoot is his horse.

Oh now that's wrong. What did the horse ever do to you? And, if he's after your family, why not take his horse for yourself? Then you have another broke animal and I'm fairly certain if you know anything about horseflesh, you wouldn't shoot one of the beauties. I'd be the one that shot you if you shot a purebred anything just becuz some dick was after your or your family instead of shooting him.

If the bozo had a gun, you wouldn't get close enough to rack him in the first place. He'd'a done had you shot becuz stereotypically, if he's after a different one of the family, he has to get rid of the dominant male first.

BTW, I happen to have 4 horses so I suppose that's why that bothers me but seriously, that's like me shooting a little girls cat becuz the little girl tried to stab my kid with a spoon or something.

Why not just shoot the hand with the weapon if their malicious intent is towards you or yours and when he takes off running, take a leg out from under him so you can then hogtie him and drag him thru the streets to the sheriff's office or whatever your fantasy is. Then, he's hurt and bleeding a little already and you'll get dirt and pavement and all kinds of goodies in those wounds that will make it hurt worse when it gets cleaned up. Just make sure the shots eliminate all use of the hand holding the weapon and limited or no use of the leg used to run away and then he'll always have a reminder and maybe he'll think twice when every step he takes is as painful as the shot.

Just my two cents but then, I don't mess with guns so... my situation would be a little different I think.

Sure, go ahead and shoot him in the arm or leg, but if he lives theres a good chance you might get sued. Sure it sounds stupid but its happened before. If I was in that situation id shoot him dead in his tracks. The FBI teaches to shoot and dont stop shooting till the threat is eliminated, so I guess thats good enough for me.

I ment that as a joke really, sorry that it offended you and anyone else. There's people out there who acctually think about Texans and horses together, so I had to throw that one in. Personally I think of horses as buffalos or cows, we really don't need them like the buffalo, and I heard that... well I won't offend anyone with that other idea.

Back on the subject, he had a big knife and, ah-ha, he was running at "you" (or me as the case is), Hmm, dangerous doesn't say much. Example: little kid with a pair of scissors = dangerous but really couldn't hurt much more than him/herself. So if this was one of those big headed morons that I see everywhere I may laugh at him and then smack him up side the head. Now lets see, if he acctually was dangerous to me... wait I have a what? They make make guns that small? Heck, If I had a gun with me it would most likely be a double barrel shotgun, so there
s be only one shot unless he kept twitching, so two at teh max.

No hey, you didn't offend me. It's not that easy. I would agree if it wasn't just a big dumb ox running around like a kid with scissors I'd be laughing too, after I started breathing again that is.

Yes most people portray Texans with the ever present horse and I have four of them so I guess I sorta fit into that bill ... I should say my family has four horses. Anyway, some people think of horses the same as most think of cattle but at the same time, some people think of cattle the same as some people think of horses. It's like those dog champion shows based on the purity of the breed and class and alla that jazz. I don't see any point in wastin' all that money but to them, it's not a waste. They'd probably think we were crazy for spending our money on our trucks like most of us probably do.

I just don't like to see the senseless destruction of any kind of animal that has a purpose like that. If you were going to tie him behind your horse and pull him to the local court house to hang him up by his big toes, why not pull him with his own horse? Makes it a little more of an insult. And on top of that, if you took his horse after you tied him up by his big toes, you've gained something and you get to laugh at him hanging there etc etc... Just a me thought I guess.

Lightbulb Is this true about Texans?

A blackpowder pistol is not considered a firearm, and Cabelas sells a snubnose 44.....
Don't know if you can "get away" with carrying one without a "permit".
I take my renewal this Sunday, I will find out and let you know.
Nothing like being permited to exercise a right, eh?

According to PC CH. 46. WEAPONS, 3(B):
"Firearm" means any device designed, made, or adapted to expel a projectile through a barrel by using the energy generated by an explosion or burning substance or any device readily convertble to that use. Firearm does not include a firearm that my have, as an integral part, a folding knife blade or other characteristics of weapons made illegal by this chapter and that is:
(A) an antique or curio firearm manufactured before1899; or
(B) a replica of an antique or curio firearm manufactured before 1899, but only if the replica does not use rim fire or center fire ammunition.

Hmmmm......
