Question Body molding question

I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me with my 1979 F250 camper special. I am restoring it ground up to show condition. It is a Lariet edition originally with side body moldings and trim. I chose to not reuse any of the molding. I filled in all the holes and did all the neccesary bodywork and it came out great. Finnaly for the question, the original side marker lights seemed like they used the molding as a " frame " sort of speak. When I go to reinstall them will it look wrong? Did the truck come with the moldings as an option? and if so, did Ford use a different light for trucks without moldings. I see a lot of trucks posted on the user gallery without moldings but none show the sides close enough to see how the lights fit and look. Please Help!

Body molding question

The side marker lamps attach directly to the sheet metal of the truck, not the molding. If you leave the molding off, it will look fine.

Yes, the molding your truck came with is an option.

I concur.
The way Ford designed that area.
They look good with or without the trim.
