WHat size tires can I safely get away with???
I mostly play in the mud and climb the ocasional Hill, but mostly I like to play in the mud.
The truck is a 74 F-100 with a NP435, 4.11 9" limited slip rear end, and a Dana 21 transfer case. Dont quite know what the front axle is.
I have been doing some reading and it seems that the Dana 21 is not exactly the toughest transfer case.
I am running 31X10.5" on 15X8 rims, and well they just look pathetic!!!
Can I get away with 35's??? hows that transfer case gunna hold up to mudding or general off roading??? I drive higher RPM's and faster in mud than I do on any dry terrain.
If it's stock height, I'd go no bigger than 33's...might get away with 14.5" wide. If you go 35's though, my guess is your tires will constantly be eating up your fenders.
14.5" wide? Damn thats way more tread than Ill need, I wont ever go much wider than about 10" of tread!!!
I found some 35X10.5" Super swamper That I had in mind...
I should clarify a couple things, I aint worried about ride higth, Was planning on lifting the truck 2-3" anyway.
I was more worried about my drive train holding up and what not!!!
