I have a 2000 Eddie Bauer Expedition 4x2 4.6L with springs on the rear suspension (ie. not the air suspension). Currently it sits with its back end higher than the front end and I would like to even the car out which would require me to raise the front end about 2-3 inches. I think that the car would look better in general anyways sitting 3 inches higher. I have heard that it may cause problems with the steering arms, drive train, and other things I can't remember now. Have these problems been corrected nowadays? Then if I can raise the front how can I keep the back from sagging with a load? Any recommendations on brands?
Rather than a lift, consider a stronger set of front springs. The engine weight will compress them less and you'll have a higher ride-height up front.
Without replacing those springs too, about the only way to keep the rear from "sagging" when loaded is to get some form of spring "helper". The most common & recommended method is air-bag.
But now you've spent a couple hundred $$ on springs up front and another couple hundred $$ on air-bags to level the rear. It'd be a lot cheaper to just cary a load around all the time. ;-)
