2010 Chapter GTG

Ok guys, here it is! Looks like the weekend of August 21-22 would work for me. I'll be in wheat harvest till the 15th so I can't make it till after harvest.

There are a bunch of State parks along this stretch of the river for camping, OR, I know a nice sandy beach near Boardman that's perfect for camping and swimming, fishing, etc, and its FREE!

Post up your thoughts, and let's get this started!

any weekend is good for me and if gas is an issue for one or two in the portland/vancover area I could take a couple extra bodies

I'd be game to hang out with you guys as long as it's close. Unfortunately, we had to let a guy go at work, which cuts the crew down from 3 to 2 (can't count the boss, he's never there) which leaves me picking up extra hours on my day off and really no chance to take off for the weekend.

If you guys were going to meet up closer to the Portland area, I might be able to swing it, but otherwise I'd arrive too late seeing as I'd be heading out right after work Saturday. I'll keep checking this thread as everyone figures things out.

Not a problem Liz. The date is not fixed in stone. It was just the first weekend I'll have off after harvest. With the weather the way it is harvest may run till the 21st. We can easily move it to the next weekend!

Howdy Washington folks! I have family up there myself. Count the wife and I in for anytime late August or early September.

Ok guys, looks like it will be the weekend of August 28th! The place I have in mind has restrooms but NO hookups. Great sandy beach, good bass fishing, and the public doesn't even know it's there! If everybody can get along without hookups it would be a great place to have it. To all that can make it, post up here and let me know so I can make plans............I'm going to take some pics of the place this week and will post them up here for all to see...........

Well, I made the 100 mile round trip to the site today. Looks like it will work great! To those that are worried about the rough Columbia river for their small boats, Don't worry! There are some sand islands there that shield the area from rough water, the bass fishing is great, and lots of area to swim in. There are bathrooms there, but no hookups. Here are the Pics I took today:

If you want to see just where it is just google! The location is Mile Post 151 on I-84.

Tell me what you guys think!
