BMW

A friend dropped by this evening. He was driving a new BMW X6 M. It looks like a crossover vehicle, kinda tall, but on closer inspection it's more like some kind of strange supercar. It has MASSIVE brakes, 550 hp and 540 ft lbs torque. It's all wheel drive with huge wide low profile tires. I was thinking it was more than just interesting, but I lost interest when I found out it cost $175,000.

He said he could get me a deal on one, so I told him a deal would be to trade me his car for my 08 F150 Lariat super crew. He said no............. I said that's no deal.

You wouldn't need a Cobra or modified GT. A 2003 Harley Davidson F-150 with a factory Supercharged 5.4L will run with it all day long.

If I had that much money burning a hole in my pocket, a new Cessna would be on the vehicle shopping list.

I hope you are right. I just passed along what someone told me and it does seem like a pretty silly number!

(freaking cool car though!)

I went to the "build one" on that site and selected everything I could, including "soft close automatic doors", and got up to only $113,291.

As far as the Harley F150 with a supercharger running with it all day, where is there a straight road you can drive on all day???

I think you guys are under estimating the Harley truck. The point being, for the price you can have just as much fun and still drive a Ford. It would however be a sad day for BMW if $75K-$113K vehicle didn't produce the intended amount of excitement.

I agree!

For me, it would buy a 1966 Ford 4x4 pickup and finance an extended trip around the back country of North America.

For about the same money, you could probably buy a ex- Russian air force surplus Mig 21..........If you have a real need for SPEED!

Good idea. Just as long as you have a rich uncle to handle your fuel bill for you!
