Timing and Vacuum

Has anyone ever heard of setting the timing on a newer EFI engine by vacuum gauge? I know it's probably quick and sloppy but I did an ignition upgrade and I have my plugs gapped but I don't think I'm going to be able to use a timing light to use in the near future, as well as the wires and the fan make me pretty nervous.

I have used vacuum to set timming on non-efi engines for many reasons, and it can work well on them, but you must really know what your doing. However for even more reasons it is a bad idea for an efi engine and a novice.

Get yourself a good timing light, I like these;

They are sold under several brand names, rather inexpensive, bright and reliable.

It's easier then it sounds at first to do, make sure to mark your timing marks with some white chalk or something.

Good luck and enjoy

ohh ya, don't forget to pull the spout!

Hey "O"! Long time! Who is John Galt? Here's a clue:
Are you a Glenn Beck head? He's kinda nutty, but he's so close to the truth, I hope he doesn't get himself whacked! "Atlas Shrugged" has been around since the 50's, but it's so darn long, few have made it cover to cover. I have the 1957 first edition. Better hurry before Obama has all the copies burned!

Yeah I've been hiding out in Galt's Gulch I read Altus Shrugged for the first time a long time ago when I was still in high school, and a couple times since. Of course my teachers had never heard of it. Then I set about finding and reading all her other books, Anthem is easily my fav. I think I can safely say I was a Libertarian/Objectivist/Voluntarist long before it was cool

WOW, I would love to have that first edition, I search used book stores every once in a while for books like that. Speaking of burning books, PM me with an email address and I'll send you a copy of a book that the Marxists have banned in other countries and they would love to make disappear if they could.

I've been watching/listening to Glenn for years, from back when he was on CNN but these days he's gotten really preachy. Still I watch though, I learn stuff from his shows that you just don't hear anywhere else.

He starts out funny & entertaining. Then he starts connecting the dots. By the end of the show, I can't sleep! I'm quite positive that being a left wing liberal democrat will eventually be recognized as a bonafied Mental Illness. Greed alone cannot explain their behavior! Man, I miss Ronald Reagan! I know the book your referring to but forgot the name, so I will P/M you. In the mean time, check this out! http://www.flpundit.com/top-satire/

Your probably thinking The Road to Serfdom by Hayek and really so many books fit that discription. But I was thinking The Secret Freedom Fighter by Jefferson Mack, it's one that they haven't banned here yet but people even here still are sketchy about it, like that BS book the Anarchist Cookbook.
