Still have surging issues

I was hoping someone could chime in on this and lead me down the right path. I have a 2005 F350 PSD with 148k miles on the odometer, full EGR delete, head studs, 5" turbo back exhaust (no cat or muffler), Dieselsite external coolant filter, and SCT tuned by Eric @ Innovative Diesel (right now it's programmed on Street). So instead of paying $185 to have a Ford tech. look at my truck and possibly tell me what is causing the turbo to surge I decided to do a little research and start from the easiest things possible to change. The EBP and ICP sensors. No, I didn't have any codes but from what I read about them and for the price I got them for I figured I would start from there and change them out. It seemed to "soften" the surging somewhat but I can still here it when getting on the freeway for example. So my question is: What's next? Where do I go from here? Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you ever cleaned your turbo? You could have some stuck vanes. I know when I had mine off when I just did my EGR delete that the I had few vanes stuck. This could be causing some of your problem. I used to get some tubo fart before and now I don't. Just thinking outloud hope you get it fixed.

When I had the turbo off to do the EGR delete I never thought about cleaning the turbo and checking for stuck vanes. Whats the best way to go about cleaning and freeing stuck vanes if I find any?

I went to the tech folder at the top of all the treads and found the tubo cleaning procedure. Followed everything to the "T" and cleaned it. You need to get the 3M kit they tell you to makes it clean up with less elbow grease.

Sounds good. Hopefully cleaning the turbo will fix the rest of the surging. About how long did it take you?

The hardest part was getting the two halfs apart. After that it took me an hour or so. I tend to be a bit to **** some times but I did not want to take back off again because I didn't do something right. Just make sure that you cover the top and bottom oil holes when you do this. A lot of trash flying around and you don't want to get that stuff in there.

ok so how many rpm does the engine surge?
if you have it in the driveway and perform a nutral runup can you make it surge?
have you roadtested it with the ebp unpluged? if so what if any change?
have you road tested with the icp unpluged? if so what if any change?

I understand both of the sensors were replaced, but that has nothing to do with the results of driving around with icp/ebp unpluged. also for the perpose of testing please do each one indpendant of each other.

have you tried a knowen good vgt silenoid?

I don't see the RPM'S jumping on the tach. I just hear the turbo surging. For example the boost getting on the freeway will fluctuate from 9 to 11 then 10 then 9 and so on. I haven't tried running it with the EBP or ICP unplugged just because it's a pain in the a** to. I live on a military base so in order for me to get it up to highway speeds which is when the surging occurs it involves a lot of time and weird stares from the gate guards wondering why I keep coming and going. VGT solenoid........never even thought about that. What are your thoughts about that?

my thought on the vgt solenoid would be if the concern goes away with the ebp unpluged I would try a knowen good one. they are not the cheepist of parts.

if the concern goes away with the icp unpluged you may have a highside oil pressure issue in the works.
any idea what ipr% is at hot idle (eot 185+)?
