Hi everyone im from the 7.3 forum and i also own a 6.0 just so you guy accept me! ha ha! Anyway a friend of mine have a 06 6.0 F-250 with 87,000 miles on it. I drove it the other day and if your in the boost and let of the throttle the turbo whines alot as its spooling down. My 6.0 does not do that at all. When my turbo went out of my 7.3 it was making this same noise. Is the VGT capable of make the same noise as the older turbos like my 7.3? And is the VGT rebuildable? and if not where is the best place to find a turbo. Or ar there any aftermarket turbos that would work? Thanks!

 

have you removed the air intake assemble and checked shaft axel and radial endplay? have you spun the impeller by hand to check fo rbinding?

lots of options for turbos in the 6.0
you can run a set of compounds feed by an eaton procharger if you want.

 

I have not cheched the end play yet. I will when i have access to it. I found a drop in replacement turbo for Garrett, it s a Gt3788VA. Has anyone ran this turbo on stock sticks and light tuning?
