Stupid questions.

Just getting started at all this so bear with me.
I'm collecting parts to build a new engine for my '70 bronco.

So far:

302 mexican block
351W heads (D0OE-C)

2 questions-

1. What is the displacement (cc) of the dish on the stock piston for early 70's SBF.

2. Can I use a 302 intake manifold with the 351W heads on a 302 block?

Thanks in advance.

Stupid questions.

Yes on the 302 manifold, a 351 would be a little too wide. You can measure the piston dish by getting a piece of plexiglass to cover the piston. Drill a hole in it and use a syringe to fill it with atf, checking how many cc's it takes. Use grease to seal to the piston.

Stupid questions.

Thanks Mike.
So the 351W intake is wider because of the difference in deck height between the 302 and the 351W block? That makes sense.
On the piston - don't have one. I've got new flat tops and I know I'm gaining about 2 cc in the 351W heads so I'm just trying to stay pretty close to the stock compression ratio. Thanks for the reply.
