Need advice on grinding A/C compressor
My '79 F250 has factory air which blows nice and cold. The problem is the compressor which I beleive is a York, it has a grinding sound when engaged. Would there be a simple fix to this without messing with the R134 charge?

I believe on the york comps you can just change the pully and clutch assembly (I know on semi's you can) The clutch assembly should be held on with 5 bolts, 1 in each corner and 1 bolt in the center of the pully.

Is there a bearing on the clutch assembly? I think there is a bearing on the compressor output shaft!
I sure would like to know if anyone has had this problem as I don't want to throw money at a cluth assembly and that not fixing it.
