I've recently purchased a 1989 Bronco with engine troubles. The vehicle is in really nice shape inside and out, but the motor does need some work.
I did a compression test and found that the #8 cylinder has no compression. Next, I pulled the head and found the #8 piston burned and melted. Looks like its time to pull the engine and have it rebuilt.
I'd love to hear about good engine rebuilders or places to buy a new/reman long block in the Regina area.
I know a few guys that have dealt with Continental Engine Rebuilders and thought they were okay. If you are interested I have a 302 but, it has a carb. It is out of a early 80's cougar supposed to have about 125,000kms.
If the re builder is any good they won`t be cheap but hopefully at least some what reasonable.
