Here is the beastus!
4.88 gears
36x13.5 Super Swampers on beadlock rims
Rear axle: Super 35 kit w/ Detroit locker
Front axle: Upgraded shafts, manual locking hubs, cable-selectable OX locker
Engine: 4.0L stroked to 4.6L, that's some crazy displacement for a Straight-6!
T-case skid, gas tank skid, rock sliders
OTK tie-rod flip, heavy-duty track bar reinforcement
What a deal!!
Looks nicer than I remember, kinda a pitty to pull it all apart..
one other option.. fix whats wrong with it, run it and buy a trailer to pull it to and from the parks with your other XJ, then you don't have to tag and insure it. plus you have something to get you home in case it breaks. ( I know, I know..you are running out of parking room)
It is a nice trail rig, but I'm not into the "extreme" look at all. Plus I have to make back money on the purchase by selling the tire/rim combo that came with it since we had at "steal" a little from our backup fund to get it.
I could buy a trailer...but that's another grand. THEN we have to buy something to tow it with (not comfortable tuggin
with the XJ)....$$$$$. Don't really fit in my budget what-so-ever
It does have some body damage, busted window, rust starting, and the interior stripped so the pictures don't show the full truth.
I really wanted it for the awesome axles that would have taken me forever to build up, and the 4.6L stroker is just awesome icing on the cake. The body armor/bumpers should look nice on mine also
Jamie sez Sunday the 27th, and she plans to do some down-home cooking again
Anybody game? It would be nice to get at least the motors swapped before the temps get terribly high. I do also have a window AC unit in the garage now to keep it somewhat cool!
