i have a 79 bronco and im thinking about flipping the rear shackles to get some more lift out of it and i was just wondering if there are any tricks for the front coils or if i just need to buy some taller coils for it. Thanks

Welcome to FTE and the Big Bronco Forum. We will do our best to get you the most accurate information we can dig up.

Don't use shortcuts when lifting... just a good rule of thumb. Longer coils are the best way to achieve the lift and deal with the added stresses put on them by virtue of the extra length.

With that said, there are "leveling kits" that use a large 1.5-2" thick disc under the stock springs. These are primarily used by Ford owners who don't load their trucks but want a level appearance to their truck. Since Ford designed their trucks to ride "level" when LOADED, some folks opt to add these leveling kits. They do not go between spring coils nor do they stretch stock coils so you won't lose any range of motion or usable spring length by using them. The loss of usable spring length is the primary concern when using spacers or blocks with coil springs.
