Wow, propane? Thats easy enough to get, Ive never heard that. How do you charge it? What I remember about the old York is, you could feel the drag on the motor and watch the gas needle move whenever it was switched on lol. Also seemed to last forever though. Thanks

The Yorks make good under-hood air compressors, but you're right, they do put a load on the engine and affect mileage. The rotaries (i.e. Sanden) don't do that as much. Never heard of using propane either - seems to me that would be a bit dangerous...
This bracket has to where you can rotate the compressor to put tension on the belt, I don't know how the other one listed works unless you some how use the factory tension pulley. My york does ok in my truck, the other day it was 95 and my air out the vents was 48 with R134, but when the york goes I'm gonna go with the 508 or 709 sanden.
