OT- Air Tools

Hey folks,
I figure the experts on here must be well versed in their air tools. I am looking at getting my first air tool set and a compressor for my graduation. I'm looking at this set: Campbell Hausfeld TL1069 - 62 Piece Air Tool Kit and this compressor: http://www.chpower.com/webapp/wcs/st...1_10646_10692_ I know the tool set is rated for 6.1 CFM and compressor is for 5.5 CFM. Will they still work alright together? Any general opinions on this selection/brand? What about running something like a small die grinder that would require relatively continuous air? I want something that suits my needs, but is high quality to last me a long time. Tools seem like the kind of thing that doesn't change much (unlike computers or something), so it would make sense to get something that would last a long time.
Thanks!

Ok Jack, I'll be brutally honest with you. Those aren't very good quality but would do ok for tinkering around with. They may last a while with limited use but wouldn't hold up to daily workouts. Of course you get what you pay for and they are better than not having any. What I would recommend is searching craigslist for better quality used air tools. Brands to look for is Ingersol Rand, Snap-on, Matco, Mac, Cornwell. Yes they cost more but will last a lot longer and are generally stronger. The link to the compressor didn't work so I couldn't see it. Now obviously any air tool is only gonna be as good as the air supply. The higher the psi rating the better to run the tools. Anything smaller than about a 20-30 gallon will struggle to keep up with air tools.

Jack, if it was up to me I would tell you to get at least a 60 gallon compressor. You wouldn't have to spend much more in fact if you looked on craigslist you could find one for almost half what you are willing to pay for that 28 gallon one. The 28 gallon tank would work but you would be much more happier with at least 60 gallons especially if you are running non stop.

Like Darrell said look for higher quality tools you won't regret it. Just my .02 cents

To the contrary of what Nissondoc said, I have had a set of tools like that from Costco for about 35 years. Still working fine. And I run them off a little bitty Campbell Hausfield compressor (Costco again) when I'm out in the camping in the toybox trailer.

Regular folks don't always need Snap-on or Mattco tools.

I probly wouldn't buy snap-on or matco air tool
I have always used C/P, Ingersol or rodac. The cheaper brands seem to last fairly well but don't have power
I am still using a C/P 734 1/2" and a C/P 772 3/4" impacts I bought in the early '70s

Which is why I said they would be fine for tinkering around. I use my tools daily and the cheap stuff dont last long. A lot of the Matco and other brand tools are rebadged Ingersol. Snap-on air ratchets are great but I dont care much for the guns.
