alrite i have a 1975 ford f-150 with the 390 in it and it didnt get good gas mileage to start out with but a couple weeks ago it started getting way worse. i didnt really notice any changes in the performance. i looked around and i couldnt see any gas leaking or anything obvious like that. it has a 4 Bbl carb in it.i was told maybe a carburetor kit would be the solution. any thoughts?

How long since the last tune-up?

 

no idea how many miles ago but id say it was about 10 years ago but would that cause it to change so suddenly like it did?

 

your carb could have had an issue take a look to make sure its still functioning correctly

as for your question about a 10 year ago tune up...

anything could have broke from pumps to filters to lines to carb to spark to timing
