A/C cools intermittently
Vehicle has the auto climate control. With the A/C on max and set at 60 degrees the compressor will cycle for about five seconds then nothing for about a minute then cycle for five seconds then nothing for a minute and so on and so on. The system pressure is good and when the compressor does cycle the air blows out cold but just for those few seconds. Anyone got any idea what the cause is? Thanks in advance for any info.

the electrical connection on the compressor could be loose(common on other ford trucks) check it, and if its loose, a small zip tie cures it. as above mentioned... it does sound like it is low on refrigerant. what kind of readings are you getting?

Need manifold gauge readings to diagnose properly, but the stated symptoms are consistent with a restricted orifice tube or similar restriction between the condenser and the evaporator. Get the gauges on there and watch both of them when the clutch cycles, then when it cycles off. Report back and describe their action.
Do NOT add refrigerant without knowing what the pressures are. Your symptom, as described, is NOT due to low refrigerant and adding more will only aggravate the problem.
