Over-size valve info
S.O.B's! I just needed to get that off my chest. My own lack of research has come back--again--to bite me.
If you are going to install the over-size sbc valves in your head, listen up. SI Valves has the 1.94" intakes and 1.60" exhaust valves, designed for the 4.9 300, oe shaft diameter, tip, and length. They are the ones who sell them to Clifford Performance, so buying through SI Valves is cheaper than Clifford too (SI=$150 for the set, Clifford=$180).
These will not screw up the valve, rocker, p.rod geometry.
Also, in case anyone needs to know: 84 and older, the over-all valve length is 4.810". 85 and newer, it is 4.750". Don't let those different size valves bite you.
