sluggish take off, need help

hey guys
I recently took my engine out and redid it and now it is back in and everything is hooked up. Runs well in park. I put it in drive and go to drive it but it has almost no power, like it takes me a min to go from 0 to 20. I step on the gas and the engine sounds fine but it won't go anywhere. Could it be tranny fluid? timing problem? A sensor? I also did not hook up the emission system from the cat. The check engine light is on too. i have a 1993 351 v8

Its possible you have areally bad vacumm leak. Hook everything back up and see if the check engine light comes on and if it still does pull the codes and see what it says

it was a stock rebuild, you don't think it would be the tranny?

Any restrictions in the exhaust?
Maybe u knocked something loose and plugged up the converter when u pulled the engine.I've seen weirder things happen.
If u did everything the other posters said, this would be my next step.

Yes,it is possible.
If you could disconnect your exhaust form the manifolds and see if you get your power back.....or someone power brake in drive and another person put their hand over the exhaust to feel for restriction.
