gas n temp gauge does not work
I bought a 1970 F250 saturday, and the gas gauge and temp gauge do not work. I pulled the sending unit out of the tank and it still had the float on it. So i turned the key on and put my test light on it but got nothing. So i pulled the fuse which looked good and put my test light across the fuse clips and got nothing. What would my next spot to check be? Could it be a bad voltage switch?

i had a similar problem i took inst. cluster off and found out it wasnt hooked up. has your truck had a lot of the wiring messed with in past? if so id start from the battery and work your way in. could be ingnition itself

Thanks rob. I pulled the cluster out while changing the oil and poked around back there with a test light and didnt get any thing so i gave up and put it back together. and when i fired i up after finished with the oil. I was watching the oil pressure light and what do you know the gas gauge was all of the sudden at 3/4 full. Magic huh.
