Demolition project, OFFTOPIC

Ok guys I couldn't find a misc. questions forum but I have a superduty so mebbe you won't flame me too bad for asking, this is my go to place for Ford advice so I'm trying to talk to the experts and see what y'all had to say.

I have a demo derby on fri night and I have become the proud owner of a '96 ford taurus that has been previously wrecked, now being a newer car with airbags and saftey features what kinda precautions would you want to take? A friend of me said he thought it had a fuel cutoff (if it got hit hard enough it would trip the fuel safety cut).

Advice? Thanks!

Here's a link to the General Automotive Discussion Section

As for your question, I do believe they have a fuel cutoff, but I'm sure you could by pass that pretty easy because I believe it's just an on off type thing. I'd definitely make sure to do something with the airbags, if they haven't deployed yet. Don't want one in the face after your first hit.

Dissconnect the battery. Wait about an hour or so then take the airbags out.
