My water pump inlet is leaking. Im thinking there is a little oring where the flange bolts to the pump?
My issue is i dont have the longer steel elbow hooked to my pump like all the pics ive seen. I have what looks to be just a small neck similar in size to the stat housing. That means my lower radiator hose is longer also? Does anyone else have this setup? Maybe an aftermarket pump etc? Im just hoping to have the right parts when i drain and R & R this thing.
If the inlet hose is leaking then yes, chances are the little O ring down there has become brittle and dried and has crack. You just need a new O ring and you'll be good to go.
I have the same short stubby inlet that you are talking about and so does my buddy and yes the hoses are a bit longer but it's fine. I don't see why the differences matter.
Thanks for the reply, im not really concerned about the hose/neck, i just wanted to make sure i had the right oring in my hand before i drained all my coolant. LOL
Just did this, but can't remember if it was square or round. I do know from the dealer it was part# F81Z-8255-AA. I used faucet lube on the o-ring before install.
